About Timberline Lake

In 1967, William and June McGourley purchased 130 acres in the New Jersey Pine Barrens with a vision of creating a campground they could operate and enjoy while raising their six children.

​

Today, that land is known as Timberline Lake Camping Resort — now home to 185 shaded and wooded sites, a private lake with beach, swimming pool, basketball court, general store, and more. It’s a place designed for both weekend getaways and seasonal camping, with activities and events for all ages.

Many of our seasonal campers have been part of Timberline for generations — first visiting as children and now returning with their own families to create new memories.

Timberline Lake is still proudly owned and operated by the McGourley family.
